‘Got your p.c - glad they came to see you. Look up the family history - your grandfather on your mother’s side was Charles Kyd Bishop who married Mary Pike Culpapper ? Yesterday we were at a place called Troon on the coast, & when we were in the post office we a list of men holding game licenses and amongst then was a Captain Bishop-Culpapper of Abbotsford - Troon. Who & what is he?

Just a card to say Mrs Foster will be ready for you next Wed. Have had a letter from W & he has had two narrow escapes. He was hit on the leg but it didnt enter the flesh and the other caught him on his bible he had in his left pocket. He is not very well at all. Will tell you more when I see you.

Today we went to Guildford where wer went on boats, shopped and visited the Cathedral. I am having a lovely time, last night we didn’t properly get to sleep till 2 O’clock. Listening to Ruth sleep talking. I love Ruth’

I’ve kept my promise but only just, I had to walk 3 1/2 miles to get the cards as there is no bus within that distance. I must stop now though, be seein you soon Monday morning ready for swimming.

‘A most perfect day. Have motored here this afternoon - a beautiful ride. Am again very comfortable, quartered in a pretty cottage facing open country Spanish people- but very nice & things are all O.K. Country here is very beautiful. TM’
